Stage 1

Program Description

Our Stage 1 program introduces students to some of the wonderful animals that live in rock pools and teaches them the similarities and differences between them. Students will also learn about the importance of caring for our environment and what actions they can take to help care for our planet.

Outcomes
ST1-4LW-S describes observable features of living things and their environments
ST1-5LW-T identifies how plants and animals are used for food and fibre products
ST1-10ES-S recognises observable changes occurring in the sky and on the land and identifies Earth’s resources
GE1-1 describes features of places and the connections people have with places

Inquiry Questions

As a part of our program, students will discover:

  • What is an elephant snail?
  • What does a sea star feel like?
  • How does a sea urchin move?
  • Why is nature special?
  • How can we care for animals?
  • What can we do to protect the environment?

Program Length: 60 minutes
Programs per day: Up to 5 sessions per day

Up to 30 children per session
